We’re Greg and Erica Swaringen—a husband and wife team passionate about helping people find lasting healing, hope, and wholeness through Christ-centered counseling. At Rooted Christian Counseling Collective, we believe in meeting people right where they are, just like Jesus did with the woman at the well. She came hurting and left filled with hope—and that’s our mission for every person who walks through our doors.

I’m a licensed professional counselor serving clients in both South Carolina and Florida, and an EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist. My passion for counseling grew out of my own testimony—a personal journey of brokenness turned into purpose. I specialize in helping those navigating trauma, ADHD, attachment wounds, and grief, using a psychodynamic, faith-integrated approach that addresses the root of the pain—not just the symptoms.
Through humor, empathy, Scripture, and clinically grounded practices, I strive to create a space that’s safe, judgment-free, and deeply healing.

I have a deep heart for walking with men, marriages, and military families, especially in seasons of grief and the unique struggles men carry. My background combines both pastoral wisdom and clinical training—I hold a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Counseling and a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sitting with people in some of life’s hardest moments, helping them process loss, trauma, and the wounds that so often go unspoken. I use a blend of psychodynamic and solution-focused approaches, but at the core, I simply want to provide a safe space where people feel seen, heard, and supported. I love helping men step into healing, grow as leaders, and strengthen their families. My calm presence, thoughtful insight, and love for Jesus shape the way I walk alongside those seeking both spiritual and emotional growth.

I live in the beautiful Upstate with my wonderful husband, our two amazing sons, and the dog with the cutest nose you’ve ever seen. My heart is to make your first step toward counseling feel easy, welcoming, and full of hope.

Marketing Specialist
Hey y’all, I’m Abbie, the marketing specialist. Though I grew up in Georgia, I ended up at Clemson University (Go Tigers!) where I studied brand communication and sports marketing. As a marketing specialist, I am always excited at the prospect of marketing a new business. However, I am especially eager to work with Rooted, because the end goal is to find healing through the gospel for each person who walks through the door. If you need me, I'll be behind the scenes of every website or social media post!

Together, we’ve been married for 16 years, are raising six amazing kids, and share our home with one exceptionally lazy hound dog. When we’re not counseling, you can probably find us near water—fishing poles in hand, or spending time with our precious family. Whether you’re facing anxiety, loss, relationship struggles, or just feel stuck in your story, we’re here to walk with you.
